Figurative Artist, Taylor White, uses the human form to explore realms of consciousness, show active conversations and cathartic moments.

Improvisational dance greatly influences her work. She is masterful at creating expressive motion. Taylor merges classical training with bold unexpected colors from her experiences with pop culture and the street art scene.

Taylor says, “I consider the dance floor a fantastic microcosm in which one can observe a very deep aspect of human connection, one that explores trust, boundaries, and connections; and the exquisite potential of the human body to move through space. I do my best in my work to convey that level of emotion, perhaps in a way that is not immediately tangible but leaves the viewer with a feeling. Whatever that feeling may be.”

Taylor was raised in Raleigh, NC and graduated in 2007 from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. She began working with the acclaimed Oslo-based advertising agency TRY/Apt, as the first and only full-time illustrator hired in a Norwegian agency. After that, she pursued her painting in Australia a few years later. She had her work displayed in galleries and the on streets in Melbourne. She is currently living in Raleigh, NC.

In conclusion, Taylor says, “I tend to define myself simply as “artist.” I stumbled into the urban art genre and I stayed because it’s so fun and social, which provides a nice contrast to the general lonesomeness that often goes hand in hand with being a studio artist; but as movements come and go, the work will continue to develop.” She has exhibited internationally from Melbourne to Berlin, LA, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago and Detroit. She has contributed to events for Just Another Agency, Analogue/Digital, Juddy Roller, Outer Space Project, Richmond Mural Project, Murals in the Market, Branded Arts, and SCOPE Miami Beach. She most recently worked with Google Fiber to create one of the largest public-facing Augmented Reality murals in the world.
